Dave Groelle

With broad expertise in modern agronomic practices, a track record of developing great superintendents, and deep knowledge of the KemperSports portfolio, Dave Groelle serves as National Agronomist for KemperSports, where he leads the support of our agronomic teams and key projects throughout the portfolio.

In this role, Dave also leads the Regional Agronomy Team as well as all efforts to support best practice sharing, agronomy education and talent development across the portfolio.  In addition, he will continue to support major construction projects, lead our key agronomic vendor relationships, and spearhead KemperSports’ Green to a Tee environmental initiative.

Dave began his career with KemperSports as Assistant Superintendent at Kemper Lakes, then played a key role in the construction and grow-in of The Glen Club before arriving at Royal Melbourne in 2000.  Over the course of 25 years at Royal Melbourne, he has been a beloved presence for the members and Club and has helped elevate this private golf course to one of the premier playing surfaces in Chicagoland. In recent years, Dave has also served as a regional agronomist and has provided invaluable support for several of KemperSports’ high-profile renovation and development projects, including Tepetonka, The Glen Club, Winnetka Golf Club, Cantigny Golf, and the Evans Course at Canal Shores.
