Property Description:

Country Club of New Hampshire is a 18-hole public course in North Sutton, NH. We have 3 buildings on property to store all maintenance equipment.  The course itself is over 175 acres with a full grass tee driving range.

 

Position Summary:

The Golf Course Superintendent oversees the maintenance and long-term improvements of the golf course and related grounds. The role requires strong agronomic knowledge, hands-on leadership, and disciplined budget management. This position reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with ownership and Management Company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and rough to established standards
  • Develop and execute agronomic programs for turf health, irrigation, and drainage
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the maintenance staff
  • Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, controlling labor and material costs
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement planning
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding course conditions and priorities
  • Support tournaments, outings, and special events as required
  • Weekly staff meetings with dept heads

 

Educational Requirements: 

  • 2 year or higher certificate in golf & sports turf management or equivalent experience

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Class A or Class B Superintendent (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of golf course maintenance leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of northern/seasonal turf management
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage budgets
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

 

Supervises:

Assistant Superintendent, Mechanic and Maintenance Team

 

Classification:

Full-Time, Non-Seasonal, Salaried, Exempt
