Hawthorn Woods Country Club is a private country club located in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, and provides family-oriented facilities and programming to its golf and social members. The club actively promotes the beauty and playability of its Arnold Palmer Signature Design Golf Course, 24-hour fitness facility and the wide variety of recreational and social activities available for today’s active families.  The club will continue to provide a base for residents and non-residents in the development, highlighting activities including golf, fitness, tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, bocce, dining, swimming and socializing with their fellow residents, guests and family members at the Club.

 

Position Summary:

Assists with the planning and management the Restaurant as appropriate to achieve member satisfaction and quality service while meeting and exceeding financial goals. The position is responsible for the short-term planning and daily operations of the front-of-house activities for the Restaurant, Bar and other food & beverage outlets

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Food and Beverage outlets, including scheduling of staff, operation and maintenance of the Point-of-Sale system, product and supply ordering, inventory control and other tasks and duties as needed.
  • Implement and manage all Club programs to ensure compliance with safety and sanitary regulation, and all federal, state, and local regulations to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to the guest.
  • Assist in the development and the implementation of menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations, and presentations within Club guidelines to capture more in-house guests.
  • Direct and oversee recruitment and development of staff; hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews, resolve conflict through fair treatment policy, discipline, and terminate as appropriate.
  • Manage the maintenance and sanitation of the Food and Beverage areas and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
  • Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: A four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • Experience: Three to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization.
  • Skills and Abilities: Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Food and Beverage/Hospitality profession. This includes the knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, and food and beverage management. Must possess highly developed communication skills.
