Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Pro Shop Manager is instrumental in developing and implementing operational strategies & protocols designed to improve Swenson Park’s services and guest experience and its competitive position in the marketplace. The position is responsible for supporting efforts across the golf course spectrum, including (but not limited to) Pro Shop duties and training, inventory management support, coordinating with Food & Beverage team members regarding outings, tournament and event assistance, and more. Additionally, he/she serves as a general supervisory & managerial presence for all line-level golf staff in the absence of other department managers when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operating activities with a focus on Pro Shop and golf operations, including but not limited to: monitoring staff interactions with guests to ensure proper customer service; training new team members in the Pro Shop and support training in other departments (Starter/Marshal, Outside Services); ensuring supplies and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Assist and oversee Pro Shop inventory management. Help with monthly inventory counts, check-in arriving product, and order new merchandise when needed.
- Assist with tournaments & golf outings, including event preparation and day-of setup (golf cart management, registration assistance, scoring support, etc.).
- Provide a supporting role with Food & Beverage, including assisting with large events, coordinating with department leaders with F&B/golf crossover, and more, as required.
- Work shifts in the golf shop, perform transactions on the point-of-sale system, schedule tee times and handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
- Interact with guests in a congenial and professional manner. Maintain a pleasant and professional manner at all times.
- Monitor customer preferences, usage patterns, and satisfaction with Company products and services.
- Manage employment activities for applicable staff members, including but not limited to, personnel recruitment and selection, performance evaluations and staff training.
- Assess the quality of internal and/or external customer service and recommend plans for continued improvement.
- Implement applicable Company operating, human resources, and safety policies and procedures pertaining to the golf operations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education/Qualifications/Certifications
- BA / BS degree, preferred.
- Minimum 1year experience in the golf or hospitality industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of people management, customer service, and guest relations preferred.
- Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including mornings, nights, & weekends.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Working Conditions
Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to outside environmental conditions. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards.

General office machines such as personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, etc., golf clubs, golf carts and other golf course maintenance tools & equipment.

Salary Range:
$24.00-$26.00/hour
