Golf Course Superintendent

Property Description:

A once private country club is being reopened as a municipal golf course after being idle for one year.

Position Summary:

Meadowbrook Golf Club in West Memphis, AR is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to bring the property back to life. We are looking for a qualified candidate to build a new team. Lead a Tif-eagle greens renovation and supervise Rainbird irrigation controller upgrades. The Golf Course Superintendent is also tasked with assessing equipment needs as we look to rebuild the maintenance department for a late summer/early fall reopening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This role requires strong leadership skills to effectively build and manage a team of maintenance workers and create a collaborative work environment.
• The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of turf grass management, irrigation systems, and pest control methods to maintain the course at a high standard.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential in addressing maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
• Additionally, excellent communication skills are valuable for coordinating maintenance activities with the Pro-shop and golfers alike.
• Additional responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred
• Proven experience in golf course maintenance
• Strong knowledge of turf care techniques and irrigation systems
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Effective communication and organizational abilities
• Construction experience preferred

Supervises:

Assistant Superintendent, Mechanic, and all Equipment Operators
