Position Summary:

The Food and Beverage Director has overall responsibility for food & beverage execution for a club with a large Food and Beverage operation. Responsible for food and supply ordering, execution of all food delivery including menu design and maintenance, banquet planning and execution, staffing of food and beverage operations throughout the property including any restaurant, snack bar, beverage cart, or event space. Responsible for food safety protocols for the entire club.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the annual Food & Beverage operating budget for DeBell Golf Club, including restaurant, snack bar, and beverage cart. Execute the operating plan in accordance with KemperSports policies to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Plan and schedule staffing levels, equipment usage, and supply needs to support daily restaurant operations, golf course beverage service, tournaments, and special events. Maintain accountability for labor productivity, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop Food & Beverage staff including servers, bartenders, and beverage cart attendants. Conduct performance evaluations and maintain service standards consistent with the guest experience at DeBell Golf Club.
  • Maintain control and organization of employee uniforms and name tags, ensuring team members present a professional appearance and represent DeBell Golf Club in a polished and consistent manner.
  • Implement and enforce Food & Beverage policies and operational procedures consistent with KemperSports standards and the service expectations of a high-volume municipal golf facility.
  • Oversee the cleanliness, readiness, and proper set-up of the restaurant, bar, patio, and banquet/event spaces within the DeBell clubhouse, including beverage cart preparation for golf operations and tournament play.
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional programs that drive Food & Beverage revenue, including golfer specials, and clubhouse dining promotions that appeal to both golfers and the Burbank community.
  • Serve as the manager on duty during meal periods and peak service times, providing visible leadership in the front-of-house to ensure food quality, service standards, and guest satisfaction are consistently delivered.
  • Ensure accuracy of pricing, taxes, gratuities, and other charges on guest checks and oversee proper operation of the Point of Sale (POS) system in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all California alcohol service requirements, including Responsible Alcohol Management (R.A.M.) or TIPS certification programs, and ensure adherence to all applicable State and Federal regulations governing alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of the annual Food & Beverage operating budget and manage daily operations to meet or exceed financial performance goals.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls for Food & Beverage operations including cash handling, inventory management, purchasing procedures, and cost control systems.
  • Manage Food & Beverage payroll in accordance with company policies, maintaining staffing efficiency and controlling labor costs while supporting a high level of service.
  • Maintain purchasing systems including purchase orders, par stock levels, and inventory management for food, beverage, and operational supplies. Oversee ordering and receiving procedures to ensure accurate quantities, pricing, and product quality.
  • Achieve or exceed revenue, expense, and profitability targets established in the annual Food & Beverage operating plan for DeBell Golf Club.

 

Qualifications:

  • Five years in a comparable food and beverage management role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Successful background of managing food and labor costs.
  • Event catering experience a plus.

Full-Time, Non-Seasonal, Salaried ($82k annually + bonus potential), Exempt
