Property Description:

Located just 30 minutes east of downtown Dallas, Buffalo Creek Golf Club features an array of rolling hills and majestic trees off the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. Measuring 7,018 yards from the back tees, this par-71 course was designed by Jay Morrish and former PGA TOUR player Tom Weiskopf and opened in the summer of 1992. This exciting course features Champion Dwarf Bermuda greens and a large variety of practice facilities to help players refine their skills and short game. Buffalo Creek also boasts event amenities, including a pavilion to compliment the friendly customer service from its staff.

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies, plans, and programs primarily designed to increase golf tournament and social event sales, improve golf rounds played, maximize revenues, and promote a positive image of the facility. Responsibilities include the implementation of various strategies including direct and/or telephone sales, direct marketing communications, advertising, special event promotions, public relations, media relations, and client relations, etc.  Responsibilities also include conducting periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current programs, which enhance the Company’s competitiveness in the marketplace, as well as for fiscal and operational analysis as appropriate.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the development and organizing of group outings, special events and tournaments and ensure staff is utilizing proper communication between departments to help ensure coordination of activities. Ensure sales staff are properly trained in all strategies utilized that maintain positive relationships with clients and communicate clearly, tactfully, and persuasively with employees, customers and outside contacts as applicable. Ensure that all employees, especially customer contact personnel, fully understand all pertinent details to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement a social media content calendar with strategies to tell the story of Buffalo Creek and our journey to fulfill ownership’s original vision.
  • Develop and implement sales, marketing and public relations plans and strategies which serve to increase social event bookings, rounds played, promote a positive Company image, and maximize revenues according to overall fiscal and operational budgeted goals.
  • Email content creation and execution to increase rounds played, merchandise sales and F&B sales and to promote a positive overall property image.
  • Monitor and manage the facility’s online reputation and reviews through timely response to customer reviews, comments, questions, etc. on social channels and review sites.
  • Group event lead generation strategies to drive sales in tournaments, outings, and special events.
  • Growth and management of club’s email database and social media followers/subscribers.
  • Assist in the creation of press releases and all other club’s communication efforts.
  • Create and manage a video and photography library, promotional materials and flyers for internal events and to promote the facility.
  • Review and analyze internal and external market information, which reflects customer purchase, usage, and satisfaction with Company products and services. Monitor and track results of marketing and sales efforts, analyze budget variances and recommend revised action plans to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Review and improve the club’s website to ensure the content is relevant and informative.
  • Manage the relationship and communication with residents and the HOA to coordinate synergies and community events.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with the local community and fraternal organizations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments and happenings in the community.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in Marketing and/or Communications preferred.
  • Strong technical skills with email, website, social media and communications software and technology
  • Strong experience and skills with MS Office 365 Suite
  • 3 years of applicable marketing, sales, and management experience, preferably in the golf industry
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
